So I decided to put my money (since time is money) where my mouth is. Been working on starting up a local bitcoin users group. Bitcoin is a solution to all kinds of hierarchical problems. Based on the work in my type one civilization paper, hierarchies are the problem, as they give psychopaths the opportunity to force everyone else into slavery. Not (always) out of cruelty, but simply because they can’t cope with another world view other than master/slave one.
But don’t just take my word for it. Someone posted this excellent video on bitcoin. Not just on the technology of the money, but on it’s societal effects. Bitcoin as a solution to hierarchical control structures comes up several times. Turns out bitcoin is actually a solution to the computer science ‘byzantine generals’ problem. It describes a lack of trust across a social network. Hmmm sounds familiar.
Nice to see the logic verified from another direction. Enjoy.
